PBDEs
Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) are a group of manufactured organobromine compounds that have been used as flame retardants in a wide range of products including electrical and electronic equipment, textiles and foams. Their persistent and bioaccumulative properties, and potential adverse effects on aquatic life and humans have led to them being classified as persistent organic pollutants.
