AgroMAT™ AG-1, Clay Soil

AgroMAT™ Matrix Reference Materials for agricultural laboratories are a cost effective solution for validation of internal standards or routine quality control verification of various analytical techniques for multiple parameter testing and can be an invaluable component of any laboratory quality control program.

AgroMAT™ AG-1 and AG-2 are soil Matrix Reference Materials for the analysis of micro-nutrients together with pH, organic matter, nitrate and soluble salt.

  • Consensus certification removes any chance of analytical bias
  • Each Matrix Reference Material is certified through a round-robin study employing specific methods of analysis - independent verification from multiple laboratories
  • Sampling, handling and extraction method information is included
  • Includes Certificate of Analysis listing Consensus Values, Confidence and Tolerance Intervals, and Instructions for Use - complete documentation for audit purposes

The Matrix Reference Material AG-1 is a natural agricultural clay soil (not spiked or fortified) with a particle size of -200 mesh. It is designed to be used for quality control verification, internal standards validation or methods development for the analysis of the listed parameters using the indicated extraction methods. Not intended for calibration

Expiry: 2 years from date of shipment

AgroMAT™ Matrix Reference Materials are available for clay soil, sandy soil and compost.

Unit Size: 175g

Consensus values were the result of an inter-laboratory study involving forty-five laboratories. Each laboratory was asked to supply analysis data for a specific list of parameters employing specific extraction methods. Not all the laboratories supplied data for the different parameters.

Several extraction methods have been used by lab participants. Mehlich III, Olsen, Ammonium Acetate at pH 7 and DTPA are methods that had enough results for statistical calculation.

Agricultural extraction methods for all elements are listed on the certificate of analysis.

Most participating labs used ICP or AA to test metals. ICP and colorimetric method have been used for phosphorus testing, colorimetric for Olsen extraction methods and ICP for Mehlich III extraction method. For nitrates analysis, cadmium reduction with colorimetric method, ionic chromatography and segmented flow analyser have been used by most participating laboratories.
